Cloud Migration & Cybersecurity Enhancement for Mid-Sized Retail Chain

We delivered a full cloud migration and cybersecurity uplift for a mid-sized UK retail chain with 40+ stores and an e-commerce channel. Legacy on-prem servers were modernised to a secure Azure landing zone with hub-and-spoke networking, private endpoints, and automated backups. Workloads were moved using Azure Migrate and Database Migration Service with blue-green cutovers to avoid downtime. We implemented single sign-on and MFA via Entra ID, centralized monitoring with Log Analytics/Sentinel, and cost governance with Azure Cost Management. The result: ~35% infrastructure cost reduction, 99.95% uptime, RPO 15 minutes/RTO 30 minutes, and zero Priority-1 incidents in the first six months.

• Mobile Optimization

  Enabled secure mobile POS, store dashboards, and device management using Intune with Conditional Access and compliant access policies, giving managers real-time visibility without exposing sensitive systems.

• Robust Analytics

  Built a unified data layer (Azure Data Lake + Synapse) feeding Power BI models for sales, stock, and shrinkage. Branch managers receive near real-time KPIs and automated exception alerts.

• Marketing Automation

  Integrated Dynamics 365 Customer Insights and Journeys with consent capture and GDPR tooling. Triggered campaigns from cart, loyalty, and store visit data increased repeat purchase frequency.

• Third-party Integrations

  Standardised APIs via Azure API Management to connect POS, ERP (NetSuite), payments, and logistics partners. Reduced batch jobs and manual reconciliations; improved order accuracy and speed.
